My Cat Harley
They say that having a pet can lower your blood pressure and actually promote living a longer and healthier life. A friend gave me a free cat five years ago. Actually a six-week old kitten who weighed all of about six ounces. (See photo of photo, above) I was living in a condo and I couldn't have a dog. I was somewhat skeptical as I had never had a cat before. I thought of myself as a confirmed dog person. But I thought I would give the cat a try. I named him Harley. It seemed like all the other single, middle-aged guys had a Harley. So this is how I got my Harley. It's amazing what an effect Harley has had on my life. I can't imagine the past five years without him to keep me company and keep me entertained. Sometimes he's annoying, like when he wakes me up on Saturday morning when I'm trying to sleep late. My kid used to do that. He also chews cords. I am on about my 10th phone charger. So he can be a pain sometimes. Not to mention expensive. He only likes the finest cat food. He likes to crawl in bed and slip under the covers. Many a time I can't make up the bed in the morning lest I disturb Harley's beauty sleep. You see a little lump under the covers over on the other side of the bed. But it's nice to feel that warm little body next to my back on cold winter nights. Harley is a good judge of character, too. He likes my fiancee, Donna. If he didn't, she probably wouldn't be my fiancee. The whole world can be mad at me sometimes but Harley is always glad to see me come home at night. Donna says that he goes to the door a few minutes before I arrive, no matter what time I come home. Not sure how he does that. Let's just say we are on the same wave length.
